Finance Assistant

Job Description

We are currently looking for an Finance Assistant to join our Cashbook team within our Finance department at our Headquarters in Steeton (West Yorkshire, UK)

The purpose of the role is to ensure that all payments and receipts are posted quickly, efficiently and at the highest levels of accuracy

Salary: £25,000 (subject to experience)

Standard Hours: 37.5 hours a week

The Ideal Candidate

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Month end deadlines
  • Key transactions processed within 3 working days

Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience working in a finance or accounting role
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
  • Experience of SAP ideal but not essential as full training is given
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Key Responsibilities

  • Processing payments & receipts for the group of companies across several countries and in a number of currencies, including: banking cash and cheques, supplier payments ,customer refunds and reward vouchers, Direct Debit collections 
  • Processing expenses claims
  • Reconciliation and coding of Credit Card returns
  • Reconciling bank statements
  • General administrative work such as filing, scanning, telephone calls and emails
  • Work in other functions in Finance as required to cover holidays & sickness

Salary Package

Our Finance team takes responsibility for efficiently budgeting, planning, analyzing and managing the company’s money, ensuring payments are processed accurately, regulatory controls are in place, and working with the business to set future objectives. Opportunities within Finance include management accounts, ledgers, cashbook and credit control, providing the opportunity to develop new skills.
