Payroll Administrator
Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Payroll Administrator at our head office in Steeton, West Yorkshire. You will be responsible for processing payrolls, handling pay adjustments, managing leaver paperwork, and assisting with pension-related tasks. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Type of contract: Full Time, Permanent
Salary: £27,250
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm (can be flexible, must be 5 days)
Holiday Entitlement: 28 days per year (including bank holidays)

The Ideal Candidate
- Proficiency in Word and Excel is essential.
- Strong attention to detail is required.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
- Experience in payroll processing or a finance/accounts environment is desirable.
Key Responsibilities
- Process weekly and monthly payrolls accurately and efficiently.
- Calculate pay adjustments as needed, such as pay reviews, pro-rating holiday entitlements, and managing unpaid absences.
- Issue P45s to leavers and address employee inquiries regarding final pay.
- Ensure payroll reports and paperwork are filed accurately and on time, making them easily accessible when needed.
- Organize and file leaver documentation efficiently for quick retrieval.
- Respond promptly and professionally to internal and external payroll queries, ensuring they are resolved effectively.
- Assist with the pension renewal process, collaborating with employees and external providers for pension clinics.
- Conduct annual pensioner audits and follow up on any outstanding responses.
- Support the Payroll Manager with tasks like monthly payments and quarterly/annual returns when required.
- Process pension contributions and remit payments to providers.
