Finance Assistant
Job Description
We are currently looking for an Finance Assistant to join our Finance department at our Headquarters in Steeton (West Yorkshire, UK)
Reporting to the Cash Book Supervisor the purpose of the role is to ensure that all payments & receipts are posted quickly, efficiently and at the highest levels of accuracy
Standard Hours:
- Monday to Thursday - 8:30am to 5:00pm (1-hour lunch)
- Friday - 8:00am to 4:00pm (30-minute lunch)
- Total of 37.5 hours per week
- Will consider flexible / part-time hours or 4-day week

The Ideal Candidate
- Experience in a Finance / Admin role
- Competent Excel skills essential
- Keen eye for detail and accuracy
- Ability to work to strict deadlines
- Experience of SAP ideal but not essential as full training is given
- Good written and verbal communication
- Strong team work both within the department and across the business
Key Responsibilities
- Processing payments & receipts for the group of companies across several countries and in a number of currencies, including:
- banking cash and cheques
- supplier payments
- customer refunds and reward vouchers
- Direct Debit collections
- Processing expenses claims
- Reconciliation and coding of Credit Card returns
- Reconciling bank statements
- General administrative work such as filing, scanning, telephone calls and emails
- Ensure that transactions are posted accurately and in a timely manner ·
- Any additional tasks as requested by Management
- Work in other functions in Finance as required to cover holidays & sickness
Key Performance Indicators:
- Month end deadlines
- Key transactions processed within 3 working days
Salary Package
Salary: £21k+ (subject to experience)
