Installer/Service Technician Floater

Job Description

We’re seeking a qualified installation technician to provide high quality professional services that help improve the lives of people around the world. We are seeking an individual who can work independently, trouble shoot our products efficiently, and represent the company in professional manner.

This position is and based out of Ontario but will require frequent travel to other provinces.

The Ideal Candidate

Competency (Skills and Abilities):

To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:

  • Intermediate construction skills

  • Ability to mount rails to various types of surfaces; wood, tile, marble, etc…

  • Troubleshoot basic mechanical and electrical issues

  • Proficient with hand tools and power tools

  • Recovers quickly from the unexpected and remains flexible

  • Ability to confidently work independently

  • Ability to instruct clients on product usage with patience and empathy

  • Intermediate computer proficiency

 

Qualifications:

The incumbent will possess or demonstrate an ability to acquire the following

  • Secondary school diploma or relevant experience

  • Clean driver’s abstract

  • Clean criminal background check

  • Mechanical and/or Electrical aptitude

  • Regular travel outside of province

 

 

Physical Demands:

  • Driving for extended periods of time

  • Sleeping in hotels and being away from home regularly

  • Ability to lift between 70 -110 lbs

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms.

Key Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Independently install curved and straight stairlifts in client homes

  • Accurately inspect diagrams to complete installs as per specifications

  • Communicate with clients about what you will be doing and answer any questions

  • Respond promptly to resolve any customer concerns and/or complaints

  • Complete tests on newly installed and/or repaired stairlifts to ensure safety and proper function

  • Conduct usage demo with customers to ensure satisfaction before leaving their home

  • Troubleshoot breakdowns and perform repairs as necessary

  • Complete necessary paperwork, upload information to customer file on AGS, and process customer payments required

  • Occasionally cut aluminum rails

  • Unload inventory into storage unit and load vehicle with necessary inventory for jobs

  • Conduct bi-weekly inventory count in company vehicle and storage unit

  • Observe company safety and security procedures; Report potentially unsafe conditions; Use equipment and materials properly

  • Maintain company vehicle

  • Maintain company cell phone and table

  • Be available for work on weekends as required

  • Be available for frequent travel within ON and out of province, including multi-night stays in hotels

  • Other duties as required
