We are currently looking for a highly driven, enthusiastic and passionate Web Designer / Web Developer to join our UK team in Steeton. The ideal candidate must have a proven track record of ability to deliver web-based solutions using methodology that puts the users at the heart of the design.

Job Role / Key Responsibilities

  • To design, develop and update front end websites and landing pages of the Acorn Stairlifts brand
  • To take over the re-design and development of additional company related sites and bring these to completion
  • To work on cross-platform applications to develop an effective user experience covering mobile phones, tablets and desktop computers
  • To create effective Call To Action (CTA) web banners
  • Working collaboratively with cross-disciplinary teams
  • Continual professional development to keep up to date with new web trends

Key Performance Indicators

  • To ensure that all end user websites are up to date.
  • To ensure that an end-product design meets the core business objectives.
  • All browsers comply with company standards
  • Communicating with team members
  • Work is produced in a timely manner to pre-agreed schedules
  • Updating task lists

Qualifications / Education

  • The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Experience

  • Experience of working in a similar role (Portfolio to be provided) (Essential)
  • Experience of designing for seniors (Desirable)

Knowledge

  • Strong knowledge of HTML5 and CSS3 and responsive design (Essential)
  • Knowledge of PHP, JavaScript and jQuery (Essential)
  • Strong understanding and ability to use the User-centred design principles (Essential)
  • Design capability using Adobe Photoshop (Essential)
  • Knowledge of multi-browser testing across devices (Essential)

Skills and Competencies

  • Ability to communicate effectively with the team throughout the design process (Essential)
  • Ability to manage own workload (Desirable)
  • Ability to work flexibly and to tight deadlines when required (Essential)
